CMAC News update 7th March 2010.
Cedric, Simon, Sam, Rob, Allan and myself, Allan, (confused?); arrived on the airfield to find the sun shining in a clear blue sky and not a cloud in sight. We were shortly joined by Geb and Ben to enjoy an excellent flying day. The wind was kind to us as well but did remind us of its presence when a sudden strong gust blew a few bits and models about.
There was an assortment of models with my Venus 40 and Cougar 2000, Simons Harrier and electric model, Cedrics homebrew Dancer, Gebs Mystic 30 and an electric Sukhoi and Sam and Robs 40% Extra 330 with twin cylinder petrol engine. I did not note what Ben brought with him. Sorry Ben. Allan had the clubs new WOT trainer with 46 OS engine installed and took it up on its maiden flight to trim it out. This is the other Allan not me.

Sam and Robs Extra 330 at 40% sounds BIG, and it is, but looking at it another way it is only 2/5ths of full size. Not so big now is it? Again 40% of a small aircraft is not as big as 40% of a large aircraft. (Sorry I’m rambling.)
A good number of flights were put under our belts today and there were no mishaps or accidents, in fact a very good day really. I have included some photos for you to peruse in the image library.
That’s all for now.
Safe flying and good landings to all.

Certificates
The club members would like to congratulate all the club's A certificate holders.
The first member to pass was Sam, one of our junior members, who was flying a "Patdancer" to take his test. This plane is an aerobatic fun model of a design by one of our members and not what people usually use to take their "A" certificate with.
The second member to pass was John, one of our senior members who has been flying for fun for a number of years and never thought of taking an achievement certificate. He was flying a "Super something" to take his test, which was the only plane he had with him that day. This plane is again an aerobatic fun model.
Adam also passed his A certificate earlier this year. Adam is a keen flyer and it seems like he actually welcomes dead stick landings which you are bound to witness at least every second flight.
